Athletics: Boys Soccer
The Bethlehem boys' soccer team is open to all male students interested in the sport of soccer. No prior experience is necessary. The season runs from August to post season play in late October or early November. Mandatory practices begin July 15 and are held daily. Voluntary practices begin after the school year ends and usually consists of two sessions per week until the dead period begins. The Varsity squad participates in the Bluegrass Games in Lexington.
Head Coach: Jody Spalding
Jody is entering his third year as head coach of the boys soccer team. Born and raised in Bardstown, Coach Spalding is a 1995 graduate of Behlehem High School, where he was a four time varsity letterman in soccer. Since 2005, Jody has coached teams in several age groups for the Nelson County Soccer Club, all participating in the Kentucky Select Soccer League, (KSSL). Many of those teams went on to win numerous league and tournament titles. Coach Spalding holds his USSF National "D" License.
Jody is a paraprofessional, is married to his wife Karen and has five children--Megan ('16), Ginny, Sara, Ryan and Jackson.
