Athletic News!
We have a new school record! Congratulations to our Boys 200 Medley Relay team for breaking a 14-year-old school record at this year’s Regional Championship Meet! The previous record stood at 2:14.65, and this incredible team shattered it with an outstanding time of 2:12.46. This amazing accomplishment is a true testament to their hard work, dedication, and teamwork throughout the season. Pictured from left to right are Baron Kulsveen, PT Minor, Logan Bennett, and Ty Johnson. Congratulations to all on this historic achievement—we are so proud of you!
What did we do at school?
Students in Mr. Helmkamp’s Geometry class recently explored the fascinating way GPS (Global Positioning Systems) work through a hands-on classroom demonstration. The class was divided into multiple groups, each representing a satellite, and used known distances from each “satellite” to determine the location of a sensor, such as a cell phone. Through collaboration and mathematical problem-solving, students were able to see how geometry and real-world applications connect. The class also reviewed how the distance from satellites to a cell phone is calculated using the time it takes electromagnetic radiation to travel from the satellite to the device, along with the known speed of light. It was an engaging and interactive lesson that brought math and technology to life!
