Club News!
Our National Honor Society students have truly been out and about making a difference in our community! From lending a helping hand at the St. Joseph Fish Fry to serving others with joyful hearts, these students continue to represent our school in the best way possible. We are so thankful for their willingness to give their time, energy, and talents to support those around them. Their dedication to service is a true reflection of leadership and character—way to go, NHS! 👏
What did we do at school?
Students in Mrs. Craig's US History class visited Lebanon National Cemetery to honor James Beaven Miles and Elmer Lee Arnold. Miles and Arnold served as Marines in World War II.
All school year, students researched these veterans: their early lives, hometowns, military service, and veteran experience. Students wrote eulogies for each veteran as well as profiles that will be posted on the Veterans Legacy Memorial website.
On Friday, students toured the cemetery and delivered eulogies at Miles's and Arnold's gravesites. Mr. Miles's family was present, giving students the opportunity to see firsthand the importance of their work. It was a special moment for our students to honor these veterans.
